Network Structure
The day-to-day operations and activities of the network are coordinated from the Institute of the Americas of University College London (UCL). The project’s academic lead is Dr Par Engstrom (p.engstrom@ucl.ac.uk), Lecturer in Human Rights at the institute, and the network facilitator is Peter Low (p.low@ucl.ac.uk).
The network’s strategic direction and major initiatives are overseen by an executive committee of international scholars. Committee membership comprises: Dr Sandra Borda (Universidad de los Andes, Colombia), Dr Clara Burbano Herrera (Ghent University, Belgium), Dr Par Engstrom (UCL Institute of the Americas, UK), Dr Courtney Hillebrecht (University of Nebraska-Lincoln, U.S.), Dr Alexandra Huneeus (University of Wisconsin, U.S.), Dr Rossana Rocha Reis (University of São Paulo, Brazil), Dr Natalia Saltalamacchia (Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México) and Dr Clara Sandoval (University of Essex, School of Law). Members of the broader network beyond the executive committee, also participate actively in workshops, publications and other project outputs.
The network is supported by an advisory board of high profile human rights practitioners and scholars with expertise in the Inter-American System. These individuals participate in select network activities, including workshops and publications, and are periodically consulted by the executive committee on academic and policy issues, and other matters of strategic interest.
